Brownhelm's Old Fashioned Holiday at The Benjamin Bacon House, hosted by Brownhelm Historical Association (BHA), takes place Saturday, December 7, 2019 and Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Benjamin Bacon Museum at Mill Hollow Park in Vermilion, Ohio. Travel back in time to 1862 for a holiday gathering at the Benjamin Bacon House.

The sounds of music ring out at Ritter Public Library! A series of free music programs open to the public will feature area singers, songwriters and more. The series is produced by the Friends of Ritter, the library’s active volunteer group whose mission is to promote use and enjoyment of the library. This year, audiences enjoyed programs featuring a harpist.

Friends of Harbour Town is getting ready to deck the City of Vermilion with Christmas Boughs and Bows. Volunteers are needed to help put them together at the Old Town Hall. Bring your friends and family and help continue this annual Harbour Town tradition. Volunteers are needed for Christmas Bough and Bow Making on Saturday.

While most Vermilion, Ohio boaters prefer to enjoy the summer months, winter boating is just as enjoyable but does have its own challenges. Water temperatures are dropping, and the threat of hypothermia is rising. Hypothermia is a potentially dangerous drop in body temperature that is caused by prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.

Kingston of Vermilion honored veterans on Veterans Day with help from Melvin Sayler from Stein Hospice. Kingston held a special pinning ceremony and each veteran received a certificate presented by Mayor Forthofer for their service. "As Mayor there is no greater honor than to personally thank some of our most senior veterans on their special day".

Help the Vermilion Chamber give back during the holiday season. The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Sock Drive for the Vermilion Salvation Army as part of the holiday campaign, "Chamber Gives Back". The Salvation Army is in desperate need of new socks in all sizes for the community. Drop off new socks at one of these locations.

Miss Kitti’s Bakery has opened in Vermilion, Ohio at 3249 Liberty Avenue. The building formerly housed Small Town Sweets. Miss Kitti’s Bakery offers baked goods including walnut rolls, poppyseed rolls, fruit rolls, cookies, cheesecake, and more. The bakery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.
